BC Financial Institutions Commission (FICOM)

The Financial Institutions Commission (FICOM) is a regulatory agency of the provincial Ministry of Finance based in Vancouver. FICOM is responsible for administering six provincial statutes. Our four pillars of responsibility are pension plans, mortgage brokers, financial institutions (including credit unions, insurance and trust companies) and the Credit Union Deposit Insurance Corporation. We take a risk-based approach to financial services supervision fitted to the dynamic nature of the sectors we oversee. Our primary focus has remained consistent as we evolved over the last 30 years - to safeguard the interests of depositors, policyholders, beneficiaries and pension plan members. Interested in joining the FICOM team? Job opportunities are posted on our website: http://www.fic.gov.bc.ca/?p=about_us/employment_opportunities Follow us on Twitter (@ficombc) for info and updates!
